Small Town, Big Comfort
Boerne’s deep historic roots meld seamlessly with its modern-day charms. Situated on the banks of a gentle creek, the verdant “hub of the Hill Country” boasts a plethora of historic structures and ample green space.
Locals have a deep and shared appreciation of “the good life.” Details are meticulously cared for, curated for enjoyment. The town is easily navigated, free of bustle. Stash your keys and walk (or bike) almost everywhere, ducking into the charming boutiques and eateries that line the Hill Country Mile. In cool(ish) months, take to the miles of nature trails and parks around the area.
The town oozes creature comfort, and exploration naturally leads to relaxation. Linger over a great bottle of wine, personally sourced from Napa by a chef who infuses every morsel with love. Sip Macallan sipped fireside in a supple leather chair. Melt stress away in a restorative salt cave. Enjoy craft brew in the sunshine as you tap to live music. Spend an extra hour (or two) in a plush bed. Light a candle and indulge in a sudsy happy hour in a clawfoot tub.
Heart & Soul
Talk with shop owners, artists and chefs, and you’ll see that Boerne is driven by both intention and passion. It’s a place that brings to life the dreams of those brave (or reckless) enough to chase them. Most folks have a tale of trading in an old life for a new one, teaching themselves tricks of their adopted trade along the way. Through toil, blood, sweat, tears, and — most importantly—perseverance, they pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations. They are passionate about their craft, and they appreciate the works of others.
You’ll meet all manner of personalities, but there’s ubiquitous, perceptible contentment in nearly everyone you chat with. We’re just outsiders, but it seems like a deep satisfaction emanating from a careful balance of hard work, easy resting, and a deep love of family and community. And, they’re kind enough to share their wisdom with a stranger over a glass of exquisite port.
More than Just a Weekend at Boerne’s
Though overnight and mini-vacays are the norm, you’ll quickly find that a couple of days isn’t enough. Not by a long shot. It takes a few days to experience Boerne (at least without bursting at the seams.) Not only is there a ton to experience in town, but it’s also a perfect home-base for wine touring in nearby Fredericksburg, Comfort, and Kerrville. Or anywhere in the Hill Country, really – it’s the hub of the Hill Country after all. So what we’re really saying is, come and stay a while – you won’t regret it.
